Founder & CEO
David Milner has served as the Chief Executive Officer of NuGen Capital since he founded the company in 2009. Mr. Milner is responsible for the strategic direction and capital allocation of the NuGen platform.
Over the past 20 years, Mr. Milner founded, operated and exited from successful investment companies and businesses in energy and real estate. David was a Director of Climate and Alternate Energy at Hastings Funds Management (www.hfm.com.au), a private equity fund based in Australia and owned by Westpac Bank. Prior to HFM, he was the co-Founder of the Climate Leaders Fund (CLF), a private equity fund in the US and Australia as well as several other investment companies in both energy and real estate. In 2012, Mr. Milner took a sabbatical from NuGen to serve as the Chief Corporate Officer of the “Campaign to Fix the Debt,” a national effort founded by Erskine Bowles and Senator Alan Simpson to encourage a comprehensive debt deal.
David is an independent Board Member of New Senior Investment Group (NASDAQ: SNR) since March 2018, and Chairman of the New Senior Investment Group Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee since July 2019. He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. David has a B.A. in Economics from Middlebury College and attended the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business as a National Fellow.
Director of Operations & Administration
Laura Frazier joined NuGen Capital in November 2016 and serves as the Director of Operations and Administration. Laura has over 18 years of extensive specialized experience with large and small companies managing their operational and communication functions with her most recent role at Teach For America in Providence, Rhode Island. Her prior experience includes serving as the Registrar and Chairman of the Board of Admissions at the Northeast Maritime Institute in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. During this time, she was one of the major developers in founding the first private maritime college in the United States to offer opportunities to low income communities and was responsible for implementing the program once approved by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education. During this time, she has also managed the development and implementation in numerous Requests for Proposals on behalf of the organization. Laura’s keen eye for detail and operations provides clients a main point of contact for all projects that need to provide seamless development, implementation, and management for all parties. Prior to Northeast Maritime Institute, Laura worked for 10 years in a variety of operational and financial roles for Arpin Van Lines based in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Laura is extremely passionate about the impact organizations can make to the sustainability of the community through education initiatives. Laura has a B.A. in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

Director of Asset Management
Aaron Rust joined NuGen Capital in November 2015 and serves as the Director of Asset Management. Mr. Rust is responsible for overseeing NuGen Capital’s operation and maintenance efforts and quality assurance standards to ensure optimum asset performance across the company’s growing renewable energy portfolio. Mr. Rust joins NuGen Capital from the construction sector, with 20 years of experience managing the moving parts of a construction site, meeting deadlines, and ensuring the highest-quality product. Aaron owned and operated his own construction company for over 15 years building horse race courses globally, including at the Olympics. Mr. Rust’s attention to detail and eye for excellence, combined with his creative problem-solving skills and hands-on leadership style, allows the team to provide the continuous, dedicated attention needed to meet the real-world conditions of optimum renewable energy asset performance.

Finance & Operations Manager
Melissa Ford currently serves as the Finance & Operations Manager for NuGen Capital. Her role is to manage the finance workflow of the platform, to support administrative functions of the asset portfolio and company entities, and to support the growth and optimization team in creating value both around future opportunities and around current portfolio revenue and expense trend oversight.
Melissa has over twelve years of experience in operational, administrative and project management capacities within the public and private sectors. Prior to her current role, she spent three years as an Operations & Administration Associate with NuGen. Melissa joined the NuGen Team after serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Command Staff of the Rhode Island State Police/Department of Public Safety for over four years. Preceding employment with the State of Rhode Island, Melissa worked as an Environmental Technician for a private environmental engineering firm based out of North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Melissa received her B.S. in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude, Honors) from Rhode Island College.

Matthew “Teo” Milner
Business Development Associate
Matthew Milner has worked as a part-time Asset Management Intern for NuGen since 2016. In the summer of 2020, Matthew took a full-time internship position with NuGen that will run until the fall of 2021, when he will start his sophomore year of college at Northeastern University. Matthew has engaged in social entrepreneurial ventures since middle school. Highlights include his trip to Amagoro, Kenya in the summer of 2017, where he worked alongside Kenyan students to help construct locker rooms and sports fields for the local high school. In 2018, Matthew attended a Global Leadership Summit in Berlin, Germany to study, discuss and build potential technology applications for the future. During his junior year at the Moses Brown School he took an influential course on the economics of social innovation, where he worked as a consultant for DinnerXChange, an application with a platform designed to help students with learning differences, and pitched a revised version of the application to a team of Google Executives at the headquarters in Cambridge, MA. Also during the course, he worked with executives from Hasbro Toys to develop Food from Friends, a blueprint for a non-profit business with the mission of reducing food insecurity in Rhode Island. This project received seed funding from both the State of Rhode Island and Moses Brown. In college, Matthew has competed as a varsity sprinter and is a member of the investment club. He plans to major in Economics and minor in Computer Science, and has taken courses in energy and environmental science. At NuGen, Matthew is involved across the board. He has transitioned from working solely in Asset Management to assisting the team with an array of projects, using what he has learned about various aspects of the solar industry to help design processes that streamline the company’s operations. Matthew understands the critical importance of renewable energy, and feels fortunate to work in a role that fosters his entrepreneurial skills while advancing NuGen’s commitment to a sustainable future.
